Young Mothers Support Group (YMSG) is an organization for the poor, vulnerable, depressed, and voiceless young girls and women. We are registered under CANGO as the umbrella organization of all NGOs in Eswatini.

Our goal is to create equitable, enterprising, violence-free, food-secure, and healthy communities towards the improvement of lives and conditions of Eswatini communities.

Vision

To see young girls and mothers enjoying full human rights and sustainable livelihoods, living in a friendly environment with access to basic needs of income, food, health, and education.

To improve and upgrade Swazi communities through strengthening the capacity of our target groups to plan, develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate effective programs designed to benefit them.

Our Background

Founded in 2018

Young Mothers Support Group (YMSG) was founded in 2018 with the primary purpose of promoting the rights of all young girls and women in Eswatini, regardless of their sexual orientation and beliefs.

YMSG is an organization for the poor, vulnerable, depressed, and voiceless young girls and women, registered under CANGO as the umbrella organization of all NGOs in Eswatini.

YMSG is guided by the needs of vulnerable groups in society such as disabled people, children, youth, men and young women, older men and women, and people living with HIV/AIDS.

Empowering Young Mothers

What Can We Do?

YMSG is mandated to various development interventions and strives to work in the following sectors.

Education & Skills

Providing basic literacy, numeracy, and vocational training for young mothers to become active and productive agents in their communities.

Health & Rights

Raising awareness of HIV/AIDS, cervical cancer, and reproductive health through community-based primary health care and VCT initiatives.

Financial Sustainability

Assisting young mothers to start income-generating businesses through VSLs, micro-finance institutions, and cooperatives for financial independence.

Agriculture & Food

Promoting climate-smart agriculture, beekeeping, mushroom production, and livestock farming to increase productivity and diversification.

Democracy & Governance

Ensuring participatory, transparent, and responsive decision-making that does not exclude vulnerable and marginalized populations.

Emergency & Humanitarian

Supporting vulnerable women whose health, safety, security, or wellbeing has been threatened by humanitarian emergencies.
